PORTLAND – Warriors guard Shaun Livingston received two technical foul calls and an automatic ejection by lead official Scott Foster in the second quarter Game 4 against the Trail Blazers on Monday night.
Livingston drove in and made a layup on which he apparently was fouled – he certainly thought so – but none of the three officials blew a whistle.
Livingston, normally placid on the court, blew a fuse.
Yelling all the way, he went after Foster and was assessed with a technical. Livingston continued to stay in the official’s ear and picked up another technical, resulting in automatic ejection with 1:36 to play in the half.
The Warriors trailed 58-52 at the time, and the deficit was pushed to 10 (67-57) at the end of the half.
Foster was overheard telling Warriors coach Steve Kerr that Livingston badgered him with profanity, including a hyphenated expletive.
Livingston started at point guard, as he has for six of the eight games this postseason. He left with 4 points, three rebounds and one assist.
