Lakers guard Kobe Bryant announced via his Facebook page Friday that he'll return to action on Sunday night against the Toronto Raptors. The Lakers posted this video announcing the future Hall of Famer's Dec. 8 return.
Bryant has been sidelined since suffering a torn Achilles on April 12 against the Warriors at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
He practiced for a third straight day Thursday without any setbacks, and told the Associated Press what he was looking for from his body before he returned to action.
"Getting a rhythm under my legs, as far as stopping on a dime, raising up and shooting, and getting your game legs underneath you where you can shoot a jump shot comfortably."
Bryant's return will will help the Lakers in more ways than one. Guard Jordan Farmer is out for a month with a torn hamstring and Steve Nash is still sidelined with a back injury with no timetable for his return. That leaves Steve Blake as the Lakers' only true point guard.
