Prior to Saturday’s matchup between A’s starting pitcher Barry Zito and Giants starter Tim Hudson, Golden State Warriors star and NBA champion Klay Thompson will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Thompson, who was named to his first All-Star team during the 2014-15 season, averaged a career-high 21.7 points per game during the regular season and ranked fifth in the NBA with a .439 field goal percentage from three-point range.
The Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals in June for their first championship since the 1974-75 season.
