Last Saturday night, Klay Thompson beat Steph Curry in the final round to win the 3-point contest at All-Star weekend.
Steve Kerr was pleased with the result.
"Last year, they were one and two, Steph won it. This year, to be perfectly honest, don't tell Steph, but I was hoping for the exact opposite," Kerr revealed to KNBR 680 on Wednesday morning. "Klay one, Steph two and that's exactly how it worked out.
Last year, Curry knocked off Klay and Kyrie Irving in the final round by registering a blistering 27 points. He made 13 in a row at one point.
This year, Klay also racked up 27 points in the final round. He had two different streaks of eight consecutive makes.
"I want them to trade off one year to the next," Kerr explained. "One wins one year, and then the other the next year."
Kerr, who told CSNBayArea.com's Monte Poole last week that he still isn't 100 percent following complications from two offseason back surgeries, also discussed his health.
"I feel good. The rest was great," Kerr said. "The last few weeks, I've made a lot of progress. I still have some symptoms, I still have some pain but I'm able to get through it. I should be fine."
The Warriors return to practice Wednesday night, and will work out again on Thursday morning before flying to Portland for Friday night's tilt against the Blazers.
