Whatever it was that came over the Warriors and stifled them whenever they ventured into Orlando in recent years was vanquished on Tuesday, as the Dubs rolled the Magic 94-81 at Amway Center.
The victory, bolstered by David Lee's 22 points and nine rebounds, gives the Warriors a six-game win streak – the Dubs' longest since December 2007. They had not won in Orlando since 2008.
Klay Thompson added 15 points, while Kent Bazemore (12) and Marreese Speights (10) led the scorers off the bench. No Warriors starter played more than 30 minutes and the reserves played the entire fourth quarter.
This was the 15th game this season in which the Warriors held their opponent to less than 40 percent shooting. Orlando finished at 38 percent, while the Warriors shot 48 percent from the field.
The Warriors now are 15-3 with the regular starting five: Andrew Bogut at center, Andre Iguodala and Lee at forwards, with Stephen Curry and Thompson at the guard spots.
STANDOUT PERFORMANCE
Lee used his quickness and athleticism to run circles around Glen "Big Baby" Davis. The veteran power forward was efficient (11-of-15 shooting) and relentless, grabbing 11 rebounds.
This will be familiar: Nobody was better off the bench than Draymond Green, who submitted his typical tap-dance on the stat sheet: 6 points, nine rebounds, four blocks, two assists and two steals.
TURNING POINT
With the game tied 8-8 and 8:14 left, the Warriors went on a 14-12 run, going up 22-10, with Thompson and Iguodala each scoring 5 points. The lead grew to 23 at the half and the Magic never mounted a serious threat.
INJURY REPORT
Centers Jermaine O'Neal (right wrist surgery) and Festus Ezeli (right knee surgery) are not with the team.
LeBron James (groin), Dwyane Wade (back), Ray Allen (knee) and Chris Andersen (soreness) are day to day for Miami.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Warriors traveled to Miami immediately after the game and will face the defending champion Heat on Thursday at American Airlines Arena. The Warriors were 97-95 winners in their last trip to Miami – the first time since 2003 the Dubs went on the road and defeated a defending champion. The Warriors have lost five of their last seven against the Heat, and seven of their last 10 in Miami.
