OAKLAND –Memphis brought the muscle, but the Warriors had the grit.
And a guy named Stephen Curry.
That was enough for the Warriors to squeak out a 100-93 victory over the Grizzlies on Friday night at Oracle Arena.
With David Lee missing the entire game and Andrew Bogut logging only four minutes before being sidelined, Curry carried the Warriors home, leading a 14-0 scoring run that closed out the win.
Curry finished with a game-high 33 points, 19 of which came in the second half.
Jermaine O'Neal, Marreese Speights and Draymond Green battled the Memphis bigs to a virtual standoff. Starting in place of Lee, Speights finished with 15 points and eight rebounds.
Green added 12 points and nine boards off the bench, while Klay Thompson scored 15 points.
Bogut left early in the game, sustaining pelvic contusion after taking a knee to the groin area. He did not return and his status for Sunday will be determined.
STANDOUT PERFORMER
With Lee watching from the bench in street clothes and Bogut writhing in the locker room, Curry kept the Warriors afloat.
He made jumpers. He made runners. He made floaters. He zipped crowd-pleasing passes. Curry was the dominant component of a two-man gang.
His partner on offense was Speights, who made 7-of-9 shots in doing his part to pull the Memphis muscle out of the paint.
Curry and Speights combined to shoot 65 percent (20 of 31). Their teammates combined to shoot 40 percent (20 of 50).
TURNING POINT
After Zach Randolph gave Memphis a 93-86 lead with four minutes to go, the Warriors responded with a 14-0 run that blew the Grizzlies off the court.
While the Grizzlies were missing their final seven shots, the Warriors were lighting it up. A Curry 3-pointer with 1:21 left put the Warriors up for good.
INJURY REPORT
PF David Lee (strained right hamstring) did not play and is questionable for Sunday. C Festus Ezeli (right knee rehab) is out indefinitely.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Warriors return to action Sunday, facing the New York Knicks at Oracle Arena in the season-series finale between the teams. The Warriors won the first meeting, 126-103, on Feb. 28 in New York.
