Poker star Phil Hellmuth is a Bay Area native and a known Warriors fan.
He's been spotted sitting courtside on a number of occasions over the past few years, brushing shoulders with Warriors owners Joe Lacob and Peter Guber, and other high-profile individuals.
Hellmuth was tracked down by TMZ over Super Bowl weekend and shared some interesting details when asked which athletes are the best poker players.
"David Lee of the Golden State Warriors, I played with him last week and he smashed us for $32,000. He's excellent," Hellmuth said. "Steph Curry's pretty good at poker, by the way. Klay's good. Bogut's really good, too. Bogut's really good."
Hellmuth acknowledged that there's a local casino in which he plays poker with Warriors players.
"Professional level? Probably Bogut is professional level," Hellmuth said.
Hellmuth also named Charles Barkley, Tony Parker and Tim Duncan as formidable opponents on the felted tables.
The 50-year-old poker legend has won 13 World Series of Poker bracelets and has an estimated career earnings over $18 million.
