OAKLAND – After eight days of preparation, the Warriors are confident they will find an answer to one of the NBA’s most vexing questions:
How do you contain LeBron James?
That was the topic Thursday morning, in the hours before the Warriors take the floor for Game 1 of the NBA Finals against James and, well, the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night at Oracle Arena.
“We think we’ve figured it out,” said forward Draymond Green, who will be among the defenders trying to control the four-time MVP.
“But you never know until you go up against him. And then, all of a sudden, something is working for a minute and then it goes to crap. We’ve got a game plan. We’ll see if it works.”
Whatever the Warriors do, it’s not likely to resemble the strategy utilized on Feb. 26 in Cleveland. James went for 42 points (on 15-of-25 shooting), 11 rebounds in five assists in a 110-99 Cavaliers victory.
