ARLINGTON – Joe Thornton missed Sharks practice on Wednesday morning after getting hit with a puck in warmups before Tuesday’s game against the Capitals.
“He had to go to the dentist this morning to get a little dental work,” Todd McLellan said.
Thornton, who has three assists in the first three games, is expected to be fine for the Sharks’ next game at the Islanders on Thursday, according to McLellan.
The Sharks stayed overnight in Washington following their 6-5 shootout win to improve to 3-0-0 on the season, and practiced at the Capitals’ training facility in suburban Virginia on Wednesday morning.
They were set to fly to Long Island on Wednesday afternoon, where they will continue a five-game East Coast road trip.
It was a busy day at Kettler Capitals Ice Plex in Arlington. The Sharks practiced first, followed by the Capitals, while the New Jersey Devils were scheduled to skate in the afternoon.
