GLENDALE – Injured Sharks defensemen Marc-Edouard Vlasic and Justin Braun did not make the trip to Arizona, but both skated on Friday in San Jose according to coach Todd McLellan.
The Sharks’ top defense pair for much of the first half of the regular season, Vlasic will miss his fourth straight game on Friday, while Braun will miss his 10th in a row.

McLellan also relayed that Vlasic’s upper body injury is not a concussion. There was some speculation – including here – that Vlasic was dealing with a head injury after he held a strange media session on Feb. 8 in which he said he simply had a cold. He was placed on injured reserve hours later.
The injury is not thought to be long term.
Braun hurt his left hand on Jan. 19 against New Jersey, carrying a timeframe for recovery of four-to-six weeks. Monday will mark four weeks since the injury, and McLellan ruled him out for Sunday’s home game with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Rookie Daniil Tarasov will “be a while” after he got hurt in his second career NHL game on Feb. 7, while winger Tye McGinn (upper body) is “getting closer,” per McLellan.
