The Sharks will hold their third annual prospects scrimmage on Thursday, July 9 at SAP Center at 7 p.m.
Tickets for the event will be $5 each, and go on sale on Friday, June 19 at 10 a.m. Proceeds benefit the Sharks foundation.
Among the recognizable names expected to participate are Chris Tierney, who impressed as the Sharks’ third line center late in the year; defenseman Mirco Mueller, who just completed his rookie NHL season, and left wing Barclay Goodrow, who spent much of the 2014-15 season with the Sharks.
Prospects include 2014 first round pick Nikolay Goldobin, Rourke Chartier, and Nikita Jevpalovs, all of whom could challenge for a roster spot in the fall.
There’s also the potential that some of the Sharks' 2015 draft picks could take part. San Jose owns the ninth overall pick in the first round in the upcoming NHL draft, which takes place in Florida on June 26-27. San Jose has not chosen that high since taking Logan Couture ninth overall in 2007.
The teams will play two 25-minute halves, while the Sharks broadcast crew will MC the action.
The event will be the highlight of Sharks development camp that week. The camp roster will be released after the draft.

The Sharks have yet to release their preseason schedule, but a few dates are known –- San Jose will host Arizona on Sep. 25 at SAP Center, and visit the Coyotes on Oct. 2. That second meeting is to take place at Gila River Arena, despite the recent legal proceedings between the Coyotes and the city of Glendale that have left the future of that franchise in doubt (again).
San Jose will play Vancouver in the preseason on Victoria Island in British Columbia as part of Kraft Hockeyville 2015, but the date of that game has not yet been revealed.
The Los Angeles Kings have released their preseason schedule with no games scheduled against the Sharks, so expect San Jose to play the Anaheim Ducks once or twice as they prepare for the 2015-16 season.
