SAN JOSE – Jason Demers has recovered from the flu, and perhaps more importantly, none of his other teammates is sick.
Demers missed Saturday’s 3-2 loss in Colorado with an illness, but was back on the ice on Monday morning as the Sharks resumed practice after Sunday’s day off.

“Just caught something. A little bug. It was pretty bad in Colorado, and I’ve just slept the last two days so it felt pretty good,” Demers said. “It felt good to get out there and skate and sweat the rest of it out.”
In order to prevent Demers’ illness from spreading with just six games left and the Pacific Division title still within reach, the defenseman sat at the front of the plane with the team staff on its return flight from Denver on Saturday evening.
“They’d rather the coaches get sick than me,” Demers said. “Just kind of sit up with the media guys and PR people and the trainers. Keep the guys away from me. So, I made sure to stay away.”
“No one showed up [sick] today, and J.D. looks better,” Todd McLellan said.
The only player missing from Monday’s skate was defenseman Scott Hannan, who had a “family thing,” according to McLellan, but could be available Tuesday against Edmonton when the Sharks open a three-game homestand. Hannan has been scratched from the lineup twice since Brad Stuart returned from an upper body injury.

Raffi Torres will not play against Edmonton, as the Sharks open a three-game homestand.
“He has to be 100 percent for us to use him,” McLellan said. “We’re not screwing around with 80 percent or anything like that. He has to be 100 percent, without risk of [injury] reoccurring again.”
