Sharks forward Adam Burish had a medical procedure on his injured left hand on Wednesday, according to a report in the San Jose Mercury News. He is out indefinitely.

Burish blocked a shot in the second period of the Sharks’ 5-2 win in Edmonton on Tuesday, and immediately left the ice with what looked like a disfigured finger. The forward made his season debut on Feb. 5 after missing more than half of the season with a back injury.

Burish, scoreless with six penalty minutes in 15 games, broke his right hand in the playoffs against Vancouver last season. He returned late in the second round against Los Angeles.
