NAPA – Raiders receiver Rod Streater has been diagnosed with a concussion. The third-year pro went down after making a catch in Sunday’s practice, the first training camp session in pads.
He skipped Monday’s practice, and must go through the NFL’s concussion-related protocol before being cleared to practice.
Head coach Dennis Allen said Monday afternoon that Streater passed the protocol’s initial stage earlier in the day, suggesting he could return without much delay.
He participated in a morning walk-thru – a session with no running or contact – and has been allowed to perform physical activity.
Streater was the team’s leading receiver last season, totaling 60 catches for 888 yards and four touchdowns.
If injuries don’t heal quickly, the Raiders will be thin at receiver on Wednesday, following a Tuesday off day.
Juron Criner missed Monday’s practice with a hamstring injury. Greg Little suffered a hamstring strain and couldn’t finish Monday’s workout.
