The Raiders put a player in the Pro Football Hall of Fame last year with the induction of punter Ray Guy.
They have a chance to make it two in a row.
Receiver Tim Brown was listed among 15 modern-era finalist during a Thursday night announcement. The nominees were trimmed from a list of 26 semifinalists.
This is Brown’s sixth time as a finalist for the Hall of Fame. He has the statistics worthy of induction with 1,094 receptions for 14,934 yards and 100 touchdowns in 17 seasons.
He’s a nine-time Pro Bowler and a two-time All-Pro. He was also a solid return man, as his 19,862 all-purpose yards rank No. 5 all-time in NFL history.
Brown has been eliminated in the first round of final cuts each time. There is stiff competition at receiver again this year former Indianapolis Colts wideout Marvin Harrison also among the final group.
