Charles Woodson is going out in style.
The veteran safety and future Hall of Famer wrapped a storied NFL career with accolades galore. He was lauded in his last home game, he was elected to the original Pro Bowl roster and was a second-team All-Pro, and he was given a final round of applause Saturday night at the NFL Honors show in San Francisco after winning the Art Rooney award, given for sportsmanship.
Woodson was a true leader of a 7-9 Raiders team that rallied around his work ethic and commitment to a franchise turnaround. He played hurt all season but never missed a game, inspiring all of his teammates.

The 18-year veteran played the game right, and went out on his terms. He wanted to end up in the playoffs but played well until the end despite a bum shoulder dislocated in Week 1.
Woodson finished with 74 tackles, five interceptions, a forced fumble and nine passes defensed.
Arizona receiver Larry Fitzgerald won the Rooney award last year.
