The Raiders offered contract tenders to six exclusive rights free agents. The team extended tenders to linebacker Kaelin Burnett, defensive back Chimdi Chekwa, safety Brandian Ross, fullback Jamize Olawale, running back Jeremy Stewart and offensive lineman Matt McCants. The team will retain their services.
Exclusive rights free agents have no negotiating power and must stay with a team if a minimum salary contract is tendered. The designation is handed out to free agents with two or fewer years of service time.
Chekwa has been in the league for three seasons -- which normally means he would be a restricted free agent -- but a team spokesman said he is a special case and remains an exclusive rights free agent.
