The Raiders released linebacker Bojay Filimoeatu on Tuesday, per the NFL transaction wire.
Filimoeatu was promoted from the practice squad before a Sept. 14 loss to the Houston Texans, and has played more than expected due to injuries at linebacker.
He had four tackles in five games played. The Raiders have an open spot on their practice squad – they activated defensive lineman Deninco Autry on Saturday – and Filimoeatu could take it if he clears waivers.
The team has not yet made a corresponding move.
Now that the trade deadline has passed, all released players must clear waivers. At 0-7, the Raiders have the top waiver priority.
