ALAMEDA –- Before formally announcing Jack Del Rio as the Raiders head coach on Friday afternoon, owner Mark Davis announced an in-house promotion.
Chief financial officer Marc Badain was elevated to team president. Some reports had the Raiders looking outside to fill a role left vacant after CEO Amy Trask resigned in 2013.

Badain has been filling those duties on an interim basis, but the promotion makes that more permanent. Badain’s focus is primarily on the business side and he’s a front man in the Raiders’ quest for a new stadium.
“He’s been running things for the last two years, and he’s done a phenomenal job,” Davis said. “I thought it was time to take the interim tag off.”
