ALAMEDA – Veteran cornerback Carlos Rogers has missed 11 straight practices. He hasn’t seen the field since an Oct. 26 loss to the Cleveland Browns, when he aggravated a knee injury he had been playing through.
The Raiders have certainly missed his presence, but there is still no timetable for his return. While it isn’t official, it seems certain he’ll miss a fourth straight game on Thursday against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The veteran’s long layoff still doesn’t have an end date.
“I had a conversation with Carlos this morning, and he’s doing better,” interim head coach Tony Sparano said. “Some days are better than others, but lately he’s had some more good days. We’re starting to pinpoint things we have to get through to get him out there.
“I will say that he’s really working hard. It’s killing him to not be out there right now. That’s a sign of a great veteran influence.”

Other Raiders injury notes:
-- Quarterback Derek Carr was limited a second straight day with a quadriceps strain.
“He’s in the same spot as he was yesterday,” Sparano said. “We kept him limited, and we’ll see where he is tomorrow. I honestly wish I could give you more, but you have to wait and see where exactly he is and how he responds.”
-- Left guard Gabe Jackson (knee) was also limited for a second straight day, but his return is not imminent. He has worked primarily with the scout team this week, assuring he won’t be ready in time for the Chiefs game.
-- Middle linebacker Miles Burris was added to the participation report with a hip injury. He was limited in Thursday’s practice.
