ALAMEDA – Raiders safety Charles Woodson emerged from Sunday’s victory over Baltimore without further damage to his bum right shoulder.
Woodson played 81 snaps despite dislocating his shoulder the week before, while wearing a harness to keep the ailing joint intact.
It didn’t keep him from playing, but it looks like it will keep him out of padded practices. Woodson stretched with his teammates but did not suit up for Wednesday’s practice in full gear, an absence designed to minimize impact on the injury site. He was limited during last week’s Thursday practice, and should be this time as well.
Defensive end Justin Tuck followed a similar path on Wednesday afternoon, was held out with a knee injury. He was in some pain after Sunday’s win, but simply said, “I’m hurt, not injured.”

NOTES
-- Fullback Jamize Olwale returned to practice after missing a week and a game with an ankle injury.
-- Defensive tackle Justin Ellis remains out with an ankle issue. C.J. Wilson started in his place, and could do so against versus Cleveland.
-- Benson Mayowa has been out since the preseason finale with a knee strain, and still hasn’t returned. Head coach Jack Del Rio said he’s “fighting his way back,” and that it’s uncertain whether he’ll rotate in at strongside linebacker or defensive end when he returns. A lineman by trade, Mayowa worked some at linebacker near preseason’s end. That might be a greater priority with Aldon Smith now on the roster and taking heavy snaps in the nickel package.
-- Receiver Rod Streater was a healthy scratch on Sunday, a surprise turn for a player who led the team in receiving yards in 2013. He seems to be the lowest reserve receiver behind Seth Roberts and Andre Holmes right now.
“We have to go with 46 active and that means that we’re going to have guys go down that we think are good players, that we really appreciate and respect, and we need them to be ready,” Del Rio said. “It’s a tough situation for guys that feel like maybe somehow they’re not doing everything right, when they are doing everything right. We can only get so many guys up on game day.”
