ALAMEDA – Tony Pashos sent an unintentional shock wave through Raider Nation on Friday morning. The veteran right tackle was a no-show at the team’s walk-thru, which caused a mini-panic within a fan base that immediately thought the worst.
They lamented a buzzard’s luck, fearing a offensive lineman was lost just a day after declaring himself fit to play Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans. It was befitting a season where linemen have been plagued by injury since training camp.
Alas, Raiders Nation got worked up for nothing. Pashos called in sick, but was listed as probable on the team’s official injury report.
He started on a battered offensive line that’s getting healthy for a change.
Guard/center Andre Gurode (quadriceps) was a full participant in this week’s practice and will contribute after missing three games including last week, when he was active but did not play. He’s expected to relieve struggling left guard Lucas Nix, which should strengthen the line as well.
Even Matt McCants (toe) practiced Friday for the first time in two weeks and is questionable.
While left tackle Jared Veldheer is practicing, is not ready to play. He could show up soon, which would bring the line back to full strength.

“It’s nice to have guys getting healthy instead of getting hurt,” center Stefen Wisniewski said. “We’ve gone through so much as a line this season. It’s nice to get some positive injury news for a change.
