Scouting report: Cooper was widely believed to be the best receiver in this draft. He’s an excellent route runner with solid hands and incredible football savvy for someone so young. He can read, react and find ways to get open. He has solid work ethic and is character-plus.
How he fits: Scouts consider him NFL ready, so you can consider him a major contributor to the 2015 Oakland. He’ll be a solid security blanket for cerebral second-year quarterback Derek Carr, but he’s got more speed than many give him credit for. He can do it all, and the Raiders hope he becomes a true impact receiver for many years to come.
Next scheduled pick: Second round, No. 35 overall (Friday).
