The Raiders still have a game left in the 2015 season, but next year’s opponents are already set. The team’s quest for a return to the postseason will continue in 2016 with games against the southern division of the AFC and NFC, with standard home-and-home contests within the AFC West.
There were a few undecideds that Week 16 clarified, giving the Raiders a complete picture of teams they’ll play at home and away. The Raiders are locked in third place in their division, and will match up against teams in the same place in the AFC East and AFC North. That adds Buffalo and Baltimore to the schedule.
This opponent slate obviously operates under the assumption the Raiders remain in the AFC West. If the Raiders and Chargers are approved for relocation to Los Angeles in 2016, one team, likely the Raiders, is expected to switch conferences. The NFL will discuss and possibility decide whether the Rams, Raiders or Chargers can move to LA during a Jan. 12-13 owners meetings in Houston.
We also don’t know where these Raiders home games will be played just yet, as the team’s O.co Coliseum lease expires after the 2015 season.
The NFL won’t release a full schedule until the spring, but here’s a look at the Raiders opponents, both home and away:
Home: Denver, Kansas City, San Diego, Houston, Indianapolis, Atlanta, Carolina, Buffalo
Away: Denver, Kansas City, San Diego, Jacksonville, Tennessee, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Baltimore
