NEW YORK, NY -- The Raiders’ flight to the East Coast will be lighter than normal. Several key players won’t be making the trip after being ruled out of Sunday morning’s game against the New York Giants.
As a matter of fact, Raiders coach Dennis Allen’s decision on who to keep active as never been easier. He rules seven players inactivebefore kickoff, and a cool half dozen are list as out on Friday’s official injury report, including running back Darren McFadden, cornerback D.J. Hayden and right tackle Matt McCants.

The will force unusual suspects into the starting lineup at key spots against a Giants team fresh off a bye.
Raiders coach Dennis Allen is comfortable with his depth, even though most of it is green.
Rashad Jennings has plenty of experience and will run for McFadden, who is down again with a hamstring strain.
Philip Adams will fill in for Hayden – he injured his groin in practice -- and play outside cornerback in the nickel package. Tracy Porter slides into the slot in those situations.
Rookie Menelik Watson will make his first NFL start for McCants, who injured his toe against the Philadelphia.
Jack Cornell will be promoted from the practice squad on Saturday and will be the only reserve tackle. He’s played that part several times this season, and only plays in an emergency. Should left tackle Khalif Barnes get hurt, Watson will slide left and Cornell will play on the right.
“He’s taken reps at both sides,” Raiders coach Dennis Allen said. “It won’t be the first time he’s played right tackle. We drafted him for a reason; we think he’s a good player, we think he has a lot of ability. Obviously he’s gotten limited exposures but we have confidence and really, that’s what your job is. When you’re called upon to go in and do a job you have to go in and do the job – that’s the way of the National Football League. We have full confidence that he’ll go in and play well and it’ll be a tough challenge for him. They have a tremendous front and he’s going to have to be ready to go.”
The offensive line is operating yet again with a skeleton crew. Tony Pashos was also ruled out, and guard/center Andre Gurode (quadriceps) is questionable after being limited in practice all week.
Safety Tyvon Branch andreceiver Juron Criner were also ruled out.
