Raiders linebacker Kaelin Burnett signed the team's one-year contract tender on Thursday afternoon. Burnett was an exclusive rights free agent, a designation for free agents with less than three years of NFL service, and had no negotiating power.
Burnett had to sign the tender or sit out the 2014 season.
Kaelin Burnett will play a second season with his brother Kevin, who started at weak side linebacker last season after signing as an unrestricted free agent. Kaelin was a reserve outside linebacker who had 10 tackles and a forced fumble on defense last season. He was primarily used on special teams. He's expected to hold a similar role in 2014.
Kaelin Burnett originally signed with the Raiders in 2012, as an undrafted free agent. Kevin Burnett is a ninth-year veteran originally drafted by the Dallas Cowboys.
