ALAMEDA –- Raiders cornerback D.J. Hayden skipped Thursday’s practice with an ankle injury, the team announced on its participation report.
That’s a first for the third-year pro, who has been healthy all season. He has played every game and has 13 starts, though his snaps have waned in recent weeks. They’ve been up the past two weeks, with No. 3 cornerback Neiko Thorpe down with a neck injury.
Hayden has 69 tackles with a sack, a forced fumble and an interception this season. The severity of Hayden’s injury is uncertain at this time. The Raiders don’t have availability after practice.
Head coach Jack Del Rio will update Hayden’s status on Friday. The rest of the participation looks the same, with edge rusher Khalil Mack (knee) and receiver Amari Cooper (foot) limited yet again. Thorpe remains limited with his neck issue.
The Kansas City Chiefs, Sunday’s opponent, continue to practice without dynamic pass rushers Justin Houston and Tamba Hali. The Chiefs also placed return man De’Anthony Thomas on the reserve list with a non-football injury.
