Former Raiders running back Mike Goodson was in custody early Friday morning after being arrested on drug and weapons charges in New Jersey.

News 12 New Jersey is reporting Goodson and a companion were found in an SUV which was stopped along Route 80 in Denville, about 40 miles west of New York City.

Both Goodson and the another man, identified as 31-year-old Garret Evans, were found intoxicated in the vehicle around 3:15 a.m. where authorities discovered marijuana and a 45-caliber handgun loaded with hollow point bullets.

Both passengers were taken to a hospital for evaluation and then released to police custody.

Goodson, who will turn 26 on May 23, played three seasons for Carolina and one for the Raiders before the Jets signed him to a three-year deal in the offseason. He played in 12 games for the Raiders last season where he gained 221 yards on 35 carries and added 16 receptions for 195 yards and a touchdown.
