As Jared Goff leads Cal into Austin on Saturday for a showdown with the Texas Longhorns, the junior quarterback is on the verge of adding several more school records to his total of 19.
With 16 passing yards, seven completions and 253 total yards of offense, Goof will break Troy Taylor's school records. He's five touchdown passes shy of tying Kyle Boller's school record.
Needless to say, Longhorns defensive coordinator Vance Bedford has his hands full try to defend Goff and the high-powered Bears offense.
On Wednesday, during a press conference, Bedford was asked about trying to devise a scheme to defend Goff.
"Not a lot of fun to be defending this guy. Like I said, he's one of the best quarterbacks I've ever faced in college football," Bedford said.
Later, Bedford was asked to compare Goff to another quarterback. He quickly pointed to a former Cal signal caller who happened to be a first-round pick in 2005.
"This guy is Aaron Rodgers. This guy is the real deal. He can throw into tight windows. He can go through his entire progressions, first, second and come to his third guy. Most college quarterbacks can't do that. He's exceptional," Bedford concluded.
