San Jose State fired men's basketball George Nessman Wednesday after back-to-back nine-win seasons.

"George Nessman worked hard to create an environment for our student-athletes to be successful," first-year Spartans athletic director Gene Bleymaier said via press release. "We thank him for all his contributions to San Jose State and wish him the best."

The search for a replacement is on.

Nessman accepted the SJSU coaching gig in 2005, but never found success. The Spartans were 86-161 over his eight seasons and claimed a berth in the 2011 College Basketball Invitational.
