Kings fans will see a new face in George Karl on the sidelines in his inaugural game in Sacramento and an unexpected, yet familiar face may be in Celtics green - Isaiah Thomas.
Thomas needs to pass a physical before being available to play for the Celtics.
Boston wants Thomas to play tonight against the Kings in Sacramento, CSNBayArea.com is learning.
Amid a frenzy of deals at the NBA trade deadline Thursday, Thomas was acquired by Boston from Phoenix in exchange for former Kings guard Marcus Thornton and Cleveland’s 2016 first round draft pick.
"Isaiah is a dynamic offensive player whose scoring and playmaking abilities add to an already well-rounded backcourt with Marcus Smart and Avery Bradley,” Celtics GM Danny Ainge said a team press release announcing the deal. “We are excited to welcome Isaiah to the Celtics family."

Thomas, selected by the Kings with the final pick in the 2011 draft out of Washington, averaged 20.5 points and 6.3 assists last season in Sacramento.
While the Kings finished the 2013-14 campaign at 28-54, Sacramento was 19-21 with DeMarcus Cousins, Rudy Gay and Thomas on the floor.
In July, the Kings signed Darren Collison as a free agent to take over point guard duties and dealt Thomas to Phoenix in a sign-and-trade deal in exchange for the rights to forward Alex Oriakhi.
