The city of Sacramento submitted a proposal earlier this week detailing the plans for a downtown development that includes a new arena for the Sacramento Kings.
The project includes retail and commercial facilities as well as office space and family residential units.

At the center of the development is the arena itself, which will be significantly larger than the Kings current arena (1 million square feet compared to 442, 000 square feet).
The application is up for review before the city's planning commission on Dec. 12 and will go before Sacramento City Council in April.
