Report: Kings interviewing former Knicks GM Layden

The Kings' search for a new GM may be heating up as ESPN reports that Sacramento is in talks with former Knicks GM Scott Layden.

Layden is known best for ushering in the decline of the New York Knicks after taking up the reigns in 1999, but after a season as assistant GM with the NBA Championship hopeful San Antonio Spurs, the Kings appear to be considering him a potential GM candidate.

Before going to New York he did have some success with the Utah Jazz, acquiring first round picks John Stockton and Carl Malone in consecutive drafts in the 1980s.
