Omri Casspi: C+
The 6-foot-9 forward averaged 20 points per game over the last eight games of the season but the production occurred as the Kings limped to the finish line, mostly without Cousins and Gay on the floor due to injury.
The 29-year-old has made it clear that he wants to stay in Sacramento yet it’s unclear if the late season surge was enough for the free agent’s second tour of duty with the Kings to be extended.
Derrick Williams: C
The 6-foot-8 forward’s athleticism and ability seem to be a good fit for Karl’s uptempo style, yet production remains hot and cold.
The 23-year-old free agent continues to be an enigma. Living up to the hype of being the second pick in the 2011 draft by Minnesota is secondary to simply sticking with the Kings.
Carl Landry: C–
Coming off of two surgeries last season was tough enough but then playing for three different coaches weighed on the 31-year-old, who never found his groove under Karl.
Ray McCallum: C
The second year point guard’s production increased when Collison departed due to injury and while it clearly doesn’t fall solely on the Detroit product, the Kings 11-19 finish to the season was less than stellar.
Karl is notoriously tough on point guards and the opportunity exists for the 23-year-old to prove to the sixth winningest coach in NBA history that he belongs.
Andre Miller: B–
The 39-year-old mid-season acquisition and long time Karl floor general with the “old man” game serves as an extension of the coach on and off the floor.
Nik Stauskas: D
The eighth pick in last year’s draft struggled and never seized the opportunity to contribute as copious minutes were available given the Kings desperate need for 3-point shooting and consistent production from the two-guard spot.
A big offseason of skill development is looming for the Michigan product.
Reggie Evans: C
The veteran forward gets Karl, having played for him in Denver, is a positive influence in the locker room and brings effort when called upon.
Ryan Hollins: C
Similar to Evans, the 7-foot backup center is vociferous from the bench as well as in his limited minutes on the floor plus is a high character individual.
Eric Moreland: Incomplete
The rookie forward shuttled between Sacramento and the Kings NBA-D League affiliate in Reno before season-ending shoulder surgery.
