The Sacramento Kings announced on Tuesday that guard Darren Collison underwent successful surgery to repair a core muscle injury.
The procedure was performed by Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia at the Vincera Institute.
Collison will begin rehabilitation immediately and is expected to be out for approximately six weeks.
The 6-0 guard is averaging 16.1 points (.473 FG%, .373 3pt%, .788 FT%), 3.2 rebounds, a team-high 5.6 assists, 1.5 steals and 34.8 minutes per game in starting all 45 games he has played in this season for the Kings.
