Demarcus Cousins resisted the urge to pick up a technical foul against the Grizzlies Thursday night, but a chair wasn’t as lucky.
After picking up his third foul in the second quarter of the Kings 102-90 win versus Memphis on a questionable block of a Marc Gasol shot attempt, Cousins contained his emotion until he reached the bench and kicked a chair.
The Kings' center can be seen expressing his frustration at the one minute mark of the Kings-Grizzlies highlights here:
Cousins was limited to less than 25 minutes of action on Wednesday due to foul trouble, but managed to produce a solid numbers in the box score with 16 points, nine rebounds, and six assists in the Kings win.
After finishing tied with Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin for the league lead at 16 technical fouls last season, the 6-foot-11 first time All-Star center has just eight thus far this season.
In training camp, Cousins was encouraged by veteran teammate Reggie Evans to pledge that he would pick up no more than five technical fouls, while placing a sign in his locker as a reminder.
The Kings (20-35) are 2-1 under new head coach George Karl and entertain San Antonio on Friday night.
