With 1:44 left in the second quarter, Collison made a driving layup to cut the Mavericks' lead to 52-39, but the point guard landed awkwardly and immediately grabbed his right groin area before walking to the locker room under his own power.
Collison, 27, is averaging 16.1 points and 5.6 assists per game this year for the Kings.
Ramon Sessions (5.3 points and 2.7 assists per game) and Ray McCallum (3.9 points and 1.4 assists per game) are behind Collison on the depth chart at the point guard spot.
Sacramento (17-31) has lost 10 of its last 11 games, is at Utah (17-32) Saturday and hosts Phoenix (28-23) on Sunday.
