SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Cole Hamels pitched 1 1-3 innings in his spring debut, and the Texas Rangers beat a San Francisco Giants split-squad 7-5 on Saturday.
Hamels allowed one run on a homer by Mac Williamson. The left-hander struck out two and walked two.
Mitch Moreland hit a two-run double in Texas' four-run third inning. He finished with three RBIs.
Williamson added a two-run homer in the ninth.

Left-hander Ricky Romero started for the Giants, replacing Johnny Cueto, whose start was pushed to next week. Romero allowed a hit in 1 2-3 scoreless innings.
Giants relievers George Kontos and Javier Lopez each threw a scoreless inning.
