Matt Cain went 8-10 with a 4.00 ERA in 2013, but his ERA was 2.36 over his final 11 starts.
Tim Lincecum went 10-14 with a 4.37 ERA in 2013, after going 10-15 with a 5.18 ERA in 2012.
The Giants re-signed Lincecum to a 2-year, $35 million dollar contract this offseason.
On Tuesday's edition of Yahoo! SportsTalk Live, Jim Kozimor asked Andrew Baggarly and Mark Kreidler the following question:
Kozimor: "Who needs that real bounce-back year on this starting staff?"
Baggarly: "The short answer would be everybody but if you had to pick one I think you pick Matt Cain. When Cain was lost in the first half I think you really saw that the rest of the rotation guys almost looked a little bit lost because they take their cues from him. They follow him and try to follow a solid start with another solid start.
"And when that wasn't there in the first half it just seemed like the anchor had come loose and they were adrift from there ... The good news is he did already bounce back with the way he pitched in the second half, so the Giants are hoping he can carry that over.

Kreidler: "Well there's no doubt that Cain needs to pitch like an ace because we think of him as an ace. But look, the bounce-back, the wild card is obviously Lincecum ... If he, for whatever reason, makes that adjustment that he's been talking about and that you saw some signs from, of figuring out how to be a pitcher and not just a thrower, he's a huge wild card for them..."
What do you think Giants fans -- who needs to have the bounce-back season the most?
