Per Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, the Padres will likely attempt to trade starter Andrew Cashner once the free agent market “shakes out”.
He also notes that, according to rival executives, the Padres would likely need to be overwhelmed to deal young starter Tyson Ross.
Cashner, 29, made it through the 2015 season unscathed after suffering through an injury-plagued 2014.
