The Seattle Mariners have emerged as the favorite to sign Melky Cabrera, according to CBS Sports.
Cabrera played for the Toronto Blue Jays and hit .301 with 16 home runs and 73 runs batted in last season.
Cabrera was linked to the San Francisco Giants for a potential reunion earlier this offseason. He was the All-Star Game MVP in 2012 when he was with San Francisco, but was suspended for 50 games after testing positive for testosterone.
