The San Francisco Giants have inked right-handed reliever Mason Tobin to a minor league deal, which includes an invitation to spring training, according to an ESPN report.

Tobin, who appeared in four games in 2011 with the Texas Rangers, underwent Tommy John surgery in 2009 and subsequently suffered an arm injury that forced him to miss the majority of the 2011 season. He was released by the Rangers' AAA affiliate on April 6, 2012.

The 24-year-old pitcher has allowed four earned runs on five hits, including a home run, over 5.1 innings in his career.

Tobin was originally selected in the 2010 Rule 5 draft by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
