The Giants are one of six teams showing "preliminary interest" in free agent outfielder Torii Hunter, according to Fox Sports.
The 39-year-old outfielder just finished a two-year, $26 million deal with the Detroit Tigers. He .286 with 33 doubles, 17 home runs and 83 RBI in 142 games in 2014.
Hunter, who has played 15 full seasons at the major league level, is a five-time All-Star and a nine-time Gold Glove winner. He began his career as a center fielder, but moved to right field later in his career. He has played 16 games in his career in left field.
Michael Morse, the Giants primary left fielder in 2014, is a free agent and drawing interest from other teams, including the Reds.
Gregor Blanco is eligible for arbitration, and according to MLB Trade Riumors' projections, he will make $3.5 million in 2015.
