After failing to retain Pablo Sandoval in the offseason, the Giants continue to search for ways to wisely spend their budget, helping to rebuild the team.
The latest player they've been connected to is Atlanta Braves free-agent pitcher Ervin Santana, according to a FOX Sports report.
Jon Lester is hardly the only starting pitcher #SFGiants are pursuing. They are showing interest in Ervin Santana, among others.— Jon Morosi (@jonmorosi) December 5, 2014
Santana, 31, went 14-10 with a 3.95 ERA in 2014.
The right-hander first debuted in 2005 with the Angels, playing eight seasons in Los Angeles. He was named an All-Star in 2008.
Santana spent the last two seasons with the Kansas City Royals and Atlanta Braves.
