An already outrageous White Sox offseason is reportedly on the verge of becoming incomprehensible.
After one month of action where move after move topped the one before it, the White Sox are set to add yet another key piece as they reportedly signed outfielder Melky Cabrera to a three-year contract on Saturday night.
Cabrera — who had a .301/.351/.458 slash line with 16 home runs and 73 RBIs in 621 plate appearances in 2014 for the Toronto Blue Jays — has agreed to a $45-million contract, which is pending a physical according to WSCR-670 AM’s Bruce Levine. Late Saturday, Cabrera’s confirmed Twitter account retweeted a welcome message from current White Sox outfielder Adam Eaton.
