SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- There is hamstring tightness, there is minor hamstring tightness and there is "very, very, very, very minor" hamstring tightness.
Buster Posey had a little bit of the latter, which is why the Giants scratched him barely 15 minutes before Wednesday's Cactus League finale at Scottsdale Stadium. Guillermo Quiroz replaced Posey in the lineup. Giants manager Bruce Bochy told PR official Jim Moorehead that Posey would play if it were a regular-season game and the club was just being extra cautious.
"It's very, very, very, very minor," Moorehead said.
It's not like Bochy was able to put his Opening Day lineup out there anyway. Pablo Sandoval had a scheduled day off and also sustained an abrasion to his right hand when he dived for a ground ball Tuesday at Maryvale.
Posey hit .419 with two home runs in Cactus League action.
