After 16 years of failing to make it past the Division Series, Tim Hudson will make his first career World Series start on Friday night against the Royals.
Hudson has made 457 regular season starts during his career without starting a World Series game, which was the most among active pitchers.
With Hudson removing his name from the top of the list, former A's starter Bartolo Colon is the new active leader with 436 career starts without a World Series start.
