This year a full share from the World Series Champions Boston Red Sox is worth $307,322.68, while a full share from the National League Champion St. Louis Cardinals is worth $228,300.
Fifty percent of the gate receipts from the Wild Card play-in games formed the player’s pool, 60 percent of the gate receipts came from the first three games of the Division series, 60 percent from the gate receipts of the first four games of the League Championship Series. And finally 60 percent of the gate receipts came from the first four games of the World Series.
The 2013 player’s pool was $62,683,966.80 and was divided among the 10 postseason teams.
Boston's share of the player’s pool was $22,566,228.05 and the Red Sox earned 58 full shares, 14.895 partial shares and 21 cash awards.
The St. Louis Cardinals received $15,044,152.03 from 56 full shares, 9.798 partial shares and two cash awards.
