SCOTTSDALE -- The Giants will finally have their full regular season lineup on the field Friday night, but now a key bench bat is hurting.
Andrew Susac has tendinitis in his right wrist, the same one he had operated on at the end of last season. Susac, the backup catcher, said his wrist "locked up pretty good the morning after" he caught Johnny Cueto on Monday. Susac had an MRI, which ruled out a serious injury.
"I saw the hand specialist who did the surgery and he said it's pretty common to have inflammation," Susac said. "There's no structural damage, which is good."
Susac was planning to test the wrist by playing catch and throwing. He hasn't played since Monday, and said he'll need at least a couple more days off. Susac had his power sapped by the wrist injury last season, but he looked sharp early in camp, and his power stroke appeared to be back. He entered as the favorite to win the backup job to Buster Posey.
The Giants got better news with one of their starting pitchers. Madison Bumgarner felt good during a brief bullpen session Thursday, and he'll start Saturday's game.

Bumgarner will end up missing just one spring start because of a neuroma in his left foot and irritation in his ribcage.
Also, Denard Span was cleared after jamming his shoulder Wednesday. Span was in Friday's starting lineup. Finally, backup Gregor Blanco said his back (tightness) is much improved.
--- The Susac injury could open a spot for Trevor Brown, one of the rookies having a big month. I wrote about Brown, Mac Williamson and Jarrett Parker last night.
