Crawford has been taking grounders at shortstop, but a sore shoulder limited the numbers of throws he could make across the diamond.

He started several games at designated hitter this spring, but is making his first start at shortstop.

Hudson, who underwent surgery on Jan. 2 to remove bone spurs in his right ankle, will pitch one inning.
